Joomla is one of the most popular content management systems in the world and that’s because of it’s powerful features which helps you to build strong based web communities and get lots of traffic.
Nowadays WordPress is the main CMS for most websites, but don’t forget Joomla because, like I said, it helps you to build strong websites, portals and powerful web communities.
So.how do you install Joomla on your server?
Installing Joomla is a very easy to do thing and all you need to do this is:
1. A web hosting account
2. FTP access
3. A MySQL database
Step 1 – Creating a MySQL Database
Create a MySQL database – In your account CPanel go to Database Management and create a new database or you can to that from PHPMyAdmin (Log in to your PhpMyAdmin account on your web host cpanel and type in a new name for your new database.)
Step 2 – Download Joomla
Download Joomla – Go to the official Joomla website and get the latest release. The default Joomla package is written in English, but you can choose to download localization packages from the Joomla Translations section.
Step 3 – Upload Joomla to server
The downloaded version of Joomla is a compressed .ZIP file. Extract the file using Winzip or Winrar and after that upload the files to your “public_html” folder or the “/” patch.
Step 4 – The actual installation process
Go to your domain and there you will see the installation manager for Joomla. If it doesn’t work check out your web hosting service or double check the folder where you placed the Joomla files.
Follow carefully all the instructions from the install manager and everything will be ok
and also username and passwords for database are those from your earlier created database.
That’s all. If you liked this post subscribe to our rss feed and also find more Joomla articles by visiting the Joomla tag url.
